Daenerys Targaryen first appeared in "Game of Thrones" (TV Show, 2011) as a young woman under the control of her abusive brother, Viserys.
She is a member of House Targaryen, the former ruling dynasty of Westeros. At the start of the series, she is living in exile across the Narrow Sea.
Forced into marriage with Khal Drogo, a powerful Dothraki warlord, Daenerys gradually gains strength and influence. She becomes known as the "Mother of Dragons" after hatching three dragon eggs.
Fueled by a belief in her right to the Iron Throne, Daenerys amasses a large army and sets sail for Westeros to reclaim her birthright.
Her reign is marked by both acts of liberation and increasing ruthlessness, ultimately leading to a tragic downfall.
